Portraits for Every Occasion
I love photographing people, there are so many different types of portraits! My experience as an art school student has built up my creative side. I love taking beautiful photos, but also unique ones.
Whether it be a senior graduating high school, a bun in the oven, business portraits or dramatic studio setups to capture a social issue- I do it all! I primarily work on location bringing whatever gear to your park of choice, your backyard or a hot city spot that has cool murals. Prior to your session, I like to get an idea of the vibe you want in your photos as well as the type of backdrop.
Recommended Locations
Golden History Park
This spot has a creek, full trees, a cute bridge and historical structures. This is a popular spot, so be prepared to play "musical chairs" with other folks getting their portraits taken.
I love this spot in the fall and late summer, it has so many beautiful colors no matter where you look- hence the reason why it is so popular!
Ketring Lake Park
This park is tucked away minutes from downtown Littleton. I love the vast greenbelt, curving trees and of course the proximity to the lake. It is a great spot and easy to navigate through - no hiking boots required!
Realization/Artist Point
This spot overlooks Boulder, above Chautauqua Park on Flagstaff Summit Road. The winding road leading up to this spot is worth it! I recommend bringing hiking shoes since there is some trail time required to get to the best spots. The views are amazing and I feel that I find new spots every time.
Banner Lakes
This location is a hidden gem out in Keenesburg off of State Highway 52. The tall grass, dense trees and proximity to the lakes are ideal for a quiet session. It is not a busy spot which means your fur babies will not get distracted easily. All of the best spots are within walking distance to the parking lot so you do not have to pack for a trek, only your props!
Standley Lake
Are you seeing a trend? I love parks right off of lakes! The access to water as well as full landscape is this photographer's favorite ingredient. Standley Lake in Arvada has so many areas to explore. I like to choose an entrance and then stay on that side. The lake itself is pretty big, with a trail that goes all around it so unless you want to get a workout in during your session it is best to find the perfect spot and explore there. The west side has a cute bridge, huge trees with great bark and an easy trail to get down to the water. Golden hour is the best time during the summer/fall months to capture those stunning colors with the light peeking over the mountains behind you.
Wonderland Lake
This lake is dreamy, tucked away just west of Broadway in Boulder. The hill backing the lake creates such a cool reflection in the water. You will find tall cattail reeds, grasses as well as mature trees. The trail that leads from the parking lot to the lake is a pretty short walk.
Wash Park
Located in Denver, this is a popular spot for joggers, power walkers and bike riders. There are a variety of spots to capture fall colors, stone textures and even flowers (in the summer time). This is a large park, which means there are tons of different areas to explore.
RiNo Art District
Cityscape and color- that is RiNo Art District in two words! This spot is a super fun location with new murals popping up all the time. It is one you have to explore in order to find the exact spots that call to you- good luck because there are a lot of great choices!
Nevadaville/Central City
Going for the old-timey look? This ghost town located above Blackhawk is a very unique spot. The old buildings have so much character and are perfect if you love the old west. It is about a 5 minute drive up from Blackhawk, and super close to Central City. This is a two in one spot because the store fronts in Central City make for some unique photos as well.
Ralston Valley Park
This cute park is in Arvada, just down the road from the Apex Rec Center. It has a playground, a shallow creek, bridges and of course wonderful trees. I find the playground can make for some fun family candids and give the kiddos a break during the session.
